Description
From Chapter 5, “Longing,” of It’s Impossible by J H McIntosh — Act I: Love Awakens.
Aaron is in a quiet, reflective space where love is offered not for return but as a blessing carried gently on the wind. Its tender melodies and prayer-like phrasing (And when I whispered your name, it trembled the breeze.) create an intimate atmosphere, encouraging a deep awareness of mind, heart, and soul. Listening to this piece feels like standing beneath an autumn tree, where each falling leaf carries a message of grace and remembrance. It gently supports the hope that love’s true power lies in giving freely, nurturing growth even when unseen.
Lyrics
As fall showed signs of its pending annual visitation,
I felt sad, the trees would again bare their sleeves
My thoughts drifted to the countless leaves on all the trees,
Hoping each would carry my love to you…brought me to my knees.
Last night I dreamed of a garden divided by light,
Where shadow met sunrise and wrong succumbed to right.
You walked from the cool toward the glow through the trees,
And when I whispered your name, it trembled the breeze.
Each step you took shimmered in gold and green,
Prayers…like the forest had never seen.
Leaves, falling, falling, carrying words I can’t speak,
Delivering the message my heart can’t keep.
If I could write my love on every one, you’d see,
There aren’t enough leaves to say what you mean to me.
Your eyes looked back with a kindness unsure,
Half-puzzle, half-mercy, as if asking, endure?
I reached, but the light held you just out of hand,
While love stayed rooted where darkness still stands.
And I thought of your beauty, the world confines,
I saw below the surface, a soul that outshines.
Leaves, turning, turning, pages of time,
Each one a whisper, a verse, a rhyme.
If Heaven keeps count of what hearts long to be,
All forests would empty of their leaves
Before my love emptied…from me.
Maybe love doesn’t need to be returned to be real,
Maybe offering it is the truest way to heal.
Leaves of love floating through the air,
I trust they’ll find you, if I’m not there.
Leaves, falling, falling, like mercy through years,
Each one a prayer that dissolves into tears.
And if you should wander beneath a tree,
May the leaf that falls beside you…….
Bring to mind…heart….and…..soul……….what in you…I…..see.
What I’m aiming for:
Leaves, falling, falling, like mercy through years,
Each one a prayer that dissolves into tears.
And if you should wander beneath a tree,
May the leaf that falls beside you…….
Bring to mind…heart….and…..soul……….what in you…I…..see.
